Celebrating National Doctors Day
Posted by Enchanted Florist Pasadena on 29th Feb 2016
Is there a special physician in your life? The doctor who delivered your children, discovered an unknown health risk, or made a significant impact on the lives of you or your family? There is a day dedicated to doctors and the significant impact they could have on our lives. Honor your healthcare provider on March 30th, National Doctors Day.
The occasion has been observed annually since 1933 as a way to recognize physicians for their contributions to healthcare. A medical doctor attends college for at least 12 years, and spends on average $200,000 on schooling. A simple "thank you" may suffice, but you should consider that your doctor may be the difference between life and death for you or a loved one.
On National Doctors Day, you may show your appreciation for a healthcare professional in a variety of ways. Thank your doctor with a gift card to a theater, favorite restaurant or golf course. Bake him a dozen homemade cookies. Donate money or time to a charity of his choice. Have a bouquet of flowers delivered by us, Enchanted Florist to his office. Flowers, historically, have a wide variety of meanings. They have been given as gifts, symbols and tokens for thousands of years.
Traditionally, on National Doctors Day, a gift of red carnations would be delivered to your favorite physician, or placed on the grave of a deceased doctor. The carnation (Dianthus Caryophyllus) is a meaningful choice. A red carnation is used to convey admiration which makes it an apt choice. Daffodils, a member of the Narcissus family, signify respect. Pink roses (family Rosaceous) express appreciation and admiration. Healthcare workers deserve much more than they receive. Tell one how much they mean to you. Honor their dedication by showing your thanks to any healthcare provider. Please contact us for creative ideas regarding how to show your thanks to the physicians who are heroic on a daily basis.
