How to Care for Succulents
Posted by Enchanted Florist on 29th Jun 2015
Whether you are looking to make succulents a beautiful addition to your garden or you are just looking to to add a plant or two to a terrarium, caring for succulents is something you need to know all about. This blog post will be focusing on succulents and how to care for them.
Water and Fertilizing
Although most people think that succulents require only a little bit of water every once in a while, these plants will not thrive if you care for them this way. During their growing season, it is important to water them and fertilize them regularly so that they do thrive. Water and fertilize your succulents at least once a week during their growing season (which is from spring into fall).
Light
Something else that is important when it comes to caring for succulents is knowing how much light that they need. In an optimal amount of light your succulent will look unstressed and will be more likely to flower. If your succulent is receiving too much sunlight it can appear off color, bleached-out looking, and even turn different colors such as yellow or orangish. When your plant is not receiving enough sunlight, it will appear as if it is reaching towards a light source.
Transplanting
It is also important to know how to transplant succulents. Ideally, succulents should be transplanted yearly. This way they can be provided with fresh soil, you can inspect their root system, and move them to bigger pots if necessary.
Our flower shop carries a variety of succulents loose, and in terrariums. If you have any other questions or concerns about succulents, please don't hesitate to contact us.
