Love Pink? There's a Holiday for You!
Posted by Enchanted Florist on 8th Jun 2015
Here’s a national holiday you’ve probably never heard of: National Pink Day (it’s unofficial, of course; no bank holidays). No one seems to know the origin of NPD or who created it, but it arrives every year on June 23, and in 2015 that’s a Tuesday.
The way of celebrating National Pink Day is to surround yourself with the color pink: wear it, eat it, drink it, drive it...You might want to read a pink book, or wrap a gift in pink paper. There are no limits to what you can do with this color, although it’s traditionally seen as the color of femininity.
A great way to celebrate National Pink Day is to send someone you love a bouquet of pink flowers! Pink roses symbolize gratitude, joy, grace and appreciation. The darker pink roses denote thankfulness.Surveys conducted in both Europe and the United States found that the color pink is also associated with romance, kindness and childhood. Bright or “hot” pink, especially when paired with purple or black is associated with eroticism.
Pink flowers are the most popular for floral gifts and delivery, but roses aren’t your only choice. Some of the most popular pink flowers-- besides roses-- are tulips, daisies and Gerber daisies, lilies and calla lilies, orchids and carnations.
The Enchanted Florist, serving Houston and surrounding communities, can help you go wild with pink to celebrate National Pink Day or we can create a more subtle expression. Remember, pink isn't just for girls and it isn't just for romance. You can give a pink bouquet to a friend, a co-worker, even your boss! If you're ready to plunge into pink, please contact us.
